Editing & Storytelling - Grades 7–8 (Fall'26)

$375.00

Great movies aren’t made when the camera stops rolling—they come together in the edit. In this hands-on class, students will learn how to transform raw footage into exciting, polished short films using professional editing techniques. Students will discover how to choose the best takes, trim scenes, add music and sound effects, create smooth transitions, and build stories that keep audiences engaged.

Whether students have taken one of our filmmaking classes or simply love creating videos, this course is a fun introduction to the creative side of post-production. Working with footage captured during class (and occasionally their own), they’ll learn the fundamentals of editing while exploring pacing, storytelling, sound design, titles, and visual effects. By the end of the session, every student will complete and premiere an original edited project—and gain the skills to make every future video even better.

Tuesdays from Sep 15–Nov 24, 2026, 6:00 PM–7:15 PM
No classes Sep 21, Oct 12, Nov 3, Nov 23-29

Grades: 7th, 8th

No experience necessary! It’s also OK to repeat this course—each session will create a unique project, with new ways to develop and sharpen filmmaking skills.
