Introduction to Filmmaking
In this fun and hands-on 10-week course, students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking from concept to final cut. Working individually and in small teams, students will explore each stage of the creative process:
Pre-Production – Learn how to brainstorm story ideas, write short scripts, plan shoots, and storyboard scenes.
Production – Get behind (and in front of) the camera! Students will learn the basics of camera operation, lighting, directing, and sound recording.
Post-Production – Use editing software to cut scenes, add sound effects or music, and polish their short film for a final screening.
Whether your child is a future director, actor, writer, or cinematographer, this class gives them a chance to discover their voice and create something original. By the end of the session, each student will have contributed to a complete short film—and walk away with new skills, confidence, and a passion for storytelling.
Every Monday from September 29, 2025–December 1, 2025, 3:45 PM–4:45PM
Grades 5th, 6th and 7th
